MISSION

fotoThe National Social Work Council is a non-profit body created and supported by the Colombian state, to supervise, control and defend the practice of the profession and the ethics of social workers. It also contributes to the development of social work in Colombia, with a qualified technical team, together with the two social work bodies related to professional membership, and academic matters.

VISION

fotoIn 2020, the National Social Work Council will be an organization which articulates academic and professional areas, playing an active part in the supervision, control, and defense of the practice of the profession, and professional ethics; and in the formulation implementation of public policy in social matters, providing leadership in the development of social work in Colombia.

OBJECTIVES

The objectives of the National Social Work Council are:

  • To ensure that laws, decrees and other regulatory measures on the practice of the profession of social work in Colombia are observed.
  • To cooperate with the Government and with professional and academic bodies in social work, as defined in Law 53/1977, in matters relevant to the practice of the profession of social work.
  • To present to the Government for study and processing, such complementary provisions it considers to be necessary for the practice of the profession of social work.
  • o cooperate with the Government in formulating social policies and programs for regional and national development.
